The Science Department

Through Science we will endeavour to fulfill the school's mission statement. We will achieve this by creating a classroom environment where all opinions are valued and respected.

We will develop an understanding of how Science links with a variety of subjects and themes. Through Scientific investigation and the analysis of data we will attempt to explain and understand scientific principles. This will allow ourselves to become fully involved in the school and the wider community.

The Science department consists of 6 laboratories, (3 upstairs and 3 downstairs). Each lab has Gas, water and electrical supplies, enabling all types of scientific experiments to be carried out.

The main part of the Science department was constructed in the early 1900's. The department was renovated more recently in 2000 and 2002, with all laboratories being completely refitted

The department has recently purchased four sets of data logging equipment allowing classes to use this recent improvement in Science to allow more accurate and reliable measurements to be made.
