Welcome to the Art department

Pupils explore visual, tactile and other sensory experiences to communicate ideas and meanings. They work with traditional and new media, developing confidence, competence, imagination and creativity. They learn to appreciate and value images and artefacts across times and cultures, and to understand the contexts in which they were made.

Pupils reflect critical on their own work and that of others, judging quality, value and meaning.

Pupils are encouraged to be adventurous, creative and to be as independent as they can whilst on the A-level course. Pupils should complete their A-Level course with the skills and confidence to thrive at Art College should they wish to take the subject further.
